Ketoprak, A simple vegetarian Dish
A day after my wedding
party, I and my husband had dinner outside. I decided to introduce simple tasty
streetfood of Cirebon to my beloved husband. It named ‘KETOPRAK’. Low price dish which can be found in almost all
streets around Cirebon after ashar time (04:00 am) until midnight. It is very
popular in Cirebon and some places in Jakarta.
My husband asked me,” What are
in Ketoprak?”
Then I answered, “ there are rice cake, fried tofu, steamed bean sprouts,
cucumber, fried onion, crackers which mixed with peanut and soy sauce.”
My
husband seemed disappointed by saying “ I don’t like fried tofu.”
I told him
certainly, “ you will like fried tofu in
your ketoprak, InshaaAllah.”
The vendor served two
plates of Ketoprak on our table.
My husband tasted it and whispered me, “ This
looked so simple but very delicious. I like it. Thank you.”
